Questions

QUESTION: Will the NCC clubs be able to display information from their clubs?

ANSWER: Yes, there will be tables available around the NCC Room.

QUESTION: What arrangements have been made to ship home all of our purchases from the convention?

ANSWER: We have arranged for UPS to be on-site with packing materials on Sunday in the Miami Room from 10:00 a.m. to 4 p.m. to help ship all of your purchases home.

QUESTION: I want to attend the Sunday morning charity auction but not eat the breakfast - may I do that without paying the registration fee.

ANSWER: We plan to add chairs around the perimeter of the ballroom to accommodate people who wish to attend the charity auction, but not have breakfast.

QUESTION: How do we know which tour to Stillwater I will be one?

ANSWER: You will be contacted after June 3rd  informing you what time your bus will leave for Stillwater and where to meet the bus.

QUESTION: I was just looking at the convention schedule and noticed that the registration is 3-6 on Thursday. I have signed up for the lunch trip to Stillwater and both of these buses leave before the registration. So my question is will you be sending information and/or tickets for these event by mail prior to the convention and if not how do we get the tickets to attend these events?

ANSWER: We plan to hand out registration packets on the bus to those going to Stillwater on Thursday, so you can avoid any registration lines Thursday afternoon/evening.

QUESTION: Will I be able to visit Tiny Town if I don't take the tour to Stillwater?

ANSWER:  Only the people of the bus tour to Stillwater will be permitted to visit Tiny Town.  The display is in a privately owned home, and the owner has requested that individual cars not come to his home.

QUESTION:  If I have my own transportation, will I be able to visit the Department 56 showroom on Friday & Saturday?

ANSWER: The Department 56 Showroom will only be open during the hours shown on the Event Schedule. http://www.ncc2008convention.com/EventSchedule.htm

QUESTION:  Will there be special shopping hours for NCC Convention Attendees at the Department 56 Mall of America Stores?

ANSWER:  Yes there are. The first 1000 registrants to the convention will receive a special invitation, pin and coupon from Department 56.  For more information on the special after-hours go to http://www.ncc2008convention.com/MOAShopping.htm

QUESTION:  At other gatherings there have been open houses at the hotel rooms where you could buy old Department 56 houses & accessories.  During part of the weekend you could also purchase miniature village items such as carts, animals, hay bales, scarecrows, etc.  Will this also be available at this gathering?

ANSWER:  Yes to both.  At the Marketplace in addition to being able to purchase retired Department 56 houses, giftware & accessories, you can also purchase some of those hand-made miniatures.  After the banquet on Saturday night there will be room hopping.  This is a good opportunity to search for that elusive Department 56 piece or giftware.
